Description: This two-day series offers an in-depth exploration of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) topics designed for professionals who are ready to move beyond the basics. Created for those who have previously completed an AAC assessment, the series focuses on expanding knowledge, strengthening skills for supporting individuals with complex communication needs, and building confidence in practice.
Over the course of two virtual sessions (4 hours each) and a minor outside-of-class assignment, participants will explore:
- Triennial Evaluation Best Practices for AAC
- Cultural Considerations with AAC
- Bilingual AAC Assessments and Applications
- Switches and Considering More Than One
- Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) and AAC
- IEP Challenges and AAC Trends: Partnering on Complex Cases with High-Profile Perspectives
Audience: This series is ideal for AT/AAC specialists, speech-language pathologists, special educators, and related service providers seeking to deepen their AAC expertise and implement new strategies within their teams and with students.

Fee:$700 per person
- Participants may earn 1 PDU credit (10 hours) through the University of Massachusetts Global at an additional cost.
- Participants will earn a certificate upon completion.
